Red, Red Wine

For whatever reason, as a Southern woman, I adore blush. I’ve talked about it here on the blog several times, but not as much as I think about it (fortunately for you!). I. Love. Blush. I’m always wearing “too much”, though I don’t believe there is such a thing.

This means that I’ve also started seeking out the good ones and collecting them. Which of course leads to our next little bit of awesome:

This, my dear friends, is the Milani Baked Blush in Red Vino. Isn’t she beautiful?

The Milani Baked Blushes are incredibly pigmented and wear for a pretty decent amount of time, somewhere around 6-8 hours. I believe all of them are shimmery, with a couple having actual glitter. Not crazy about that, but whatever.

They all come in this shiny gold packaging that’s incredibly difficult to photograph…

The compacts have this double life thing going on, with a brush and mirror underneath the product itself. I don’t use the brush on a daily basis, as you might be able to tell from the plastic that’s still encasing it, but having that and the mirror make this a really convenient travel blush.

I’m not really sure why they claim it “Shapes, contours, & highlights”, because really. Let’s be honest, here, okay Milani? It’s blush. A great one, but it’s still just blush.

Did I mention the pigment? Because, MERCY, does it have some pigment. Which, of course, I love. I know you may be wondering how a pale female such as myself can wear such a bold blush, but with a fluffy brush and the right eye makeup? It’s KILLER. I’ll have to show you sometime. :)

I think this color would look amazing on darker skin! If this color is just too bold for you, though, have no fear: Milani makes some other really gorgeous, softer colors in this line.

These cost anywhere from $7-10, depending on where you buy them and what sales are going on. Milani is sold at the common drugstores, Target, and I think Walmart just picked them up, too. Considering how pigmented they all are and how much product you’re getting, I think that’s a steal!

So what do you think? Would you try this blush?

Much love,

  1. I really like this color!
The whole Milani range sounds (and looks) really interesting, too bad it’s not available in Italy :/
