Bronzer Week: Gettin’ Toasted with e.l.f.’s Baked Eye Shadow

This week on New Shine, it’s all about the bronzer.

Every day this week, a bronzer and an accompanying bronze-themed product will be featured. I am OBSESSED right now! Even as a very fair girl, I’m still all about getting all glowy for summer, without being out in the sun. I’m excited to share my finds with you all week long!

I have had the e.l.f. Baked Eye Shadows since right after they came out, and to be honest, after a few uses of each one, they were relegated to the back of my drawers as I started to use other products. But maybe a week or two ago, I was looking for a specific color and one of these baked shadows was exactly what I needed. Now, I can’t believe I didn’t use it for so long!

Say hello to e.l.f.’s Baked Eye Shadow in Toasted ($3). (Hi, Toasted.) These little beauties are part of the Studio line, and are now sold in Target, as opposed to e.l.f.’s website only. They are meant to be used wet or dry, with the intensity being amped up if used wet.

They are domed like most baked products and come in small little compacts. The packaging is simple, if a little flimsy, but it gets the job done and keeps the price down.

Most of these shadows are fairly weak when used dry, which is common of this type of texture. Even MAC Mineralize shadows are transparent and puny when swatched dry, and the price point is considerably higher. Despite that, Toasted performed fabulously when used dry and impeccably when used wet. (I’m into adjectives today, apparently.)

See what I mean? Awesome. I love the color, which is a warm, rosy bronze, and the texture is phenomenal, especially at this price point. ($3, people. 3 DOLLARS.) To use the shadow wet, just dampen your brush with some water and use it as you normally would. Voila! Instant awesome.

The longevity depends on whether you use a primer or not, like with most eye shadows. Just be in the habit of using one and you won’t have to worry about creasing! :)

Using Toasted has inspired me to break out the other shades, as well as the blushes and bronzers in the Studio Baked range. They are excellent products that should get much more hype! You can find Toasted at your local Target or online here.

See you Monday!
